Even though I did not succeed in eating here there is a reason for this low rating. I tried to make a reservation. In the last month I sent an email (in Italian) but there was no response or reply. Notwithstanding I sent am old fashioned post card requesting a reservation. This note was written in Italian and contained my email and SMS contact details. Again no response of any kind. Afterwards I again sent an email requesting a reservation or any kind of acknowledgement. Unsurprisingly no reply. Such a failure to engage with a genuine customer is unacceptable. Therefore this merits only 1 star.

Sunday lunch in Soncino, I had wanted to try Il Molino for a long time and I must say that it did not disappoint, but even exceeded expectations: from the combination of ingredients in the dishes offered, to the very elegant location without being excessive, up to the kindness of the staff. We had a wonderful meal and I will absolutely return in the summer to enjoy the outdoor courtyard. The only note perhaps was the very hasty service: after the first course the service sped up a lot, leaving little time to savor the dish we had just eaten and take a break.

The restaurant enjoys a remarkable view of the castle, well furnished, working fireplace, pleasant mise en place. The food is well cooked and presented, some flavors are reviewable but overall the chef has an excellent hand. Pleasant desserts, not excessively sugary. Attentive staff. To try

For a walk in that beautiful village of Soncino, I discover this restaurant with a spectacular view of the castle. An ideal day to eat outside and enjoy the view, a place that satisfies everyone, from the most informal to the refined. Excellent dishes, kind and professional service, lovely place, normal prices for the place it is.
